Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s interview is the talk of the town with the hashtag ‘abolish the monarchy’ taking center stage.
In the ‘tell it all’ candid interview, the couple dropped a number of bombshells with many raising eyebrows at how the Royal palace treated the couple. From fears of their baby’s skin color being too dark to the stripping away of Harry’s royal titles, the list of secrets revealed went on.
The two-hour sit-down interview included Oprah Winfrey asking the couple all sorts of questions as to their life as royals.
Out of them all, the Duchess of Sussex explained to the talk show host how a certain member of the royal family feared their son’s skin color would be too dark. And in absolute shock, Oprah goes on to reveal, ‘there’s a conversation about how dark your newborn is going to be?’
On that note, Meghan replied ‘yes, several conversations… potentially and what that would look like.’
In the same way, the duchess shared with the world her great struggles of mental health, revealing to Oprah how the media actually drove her to the verge of suicide, during a certain period of her pregnancy term.
“I just didn’t want to be alive anymore,” Meghan revealed. And when she wanted to get professional help for her condition, certain members of the royals felt that her step would not be good for her institution.
Right after the interview, Twitter slowly became flooded with the hashtag ‘abolish the monarchy.’ And that’s because many began criticizing the royals as well as their treatment of both Harry and Meghan.
And just like that, the comments kept on coming in. One person wrote how proud he felt of Meghan for opening up to such an extent and revealing whatever has happened to her. “Just hearing about what happened to her and whatever she went through is absolutely heartbreaking,” the person added.
