According to media sources, Biden intends to move quickly when it comes to undoing the Donald Trump Administration’s most cherished items on their agenda. This includes the great introduction of an immigration bill that gives US residency to around 11 million illegal immigrants.

In the same way, the new bill will also grant them the right to move forward with citizenship, right after a mega 8-year wait. The news was confirmed by immigration rights activists, who have taken an up-close and personal look at the plans.

As you can probably expect, Biden also intends on issuing immediate executive orders that extend DACA, which is the Obama era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Moreover, this program shields young individuals that were brought into the US as young kids from deportation.

In the same way, this new order will ensure that all programs are kept in place for a further time span of 4 years, as explained by activists. Joe Biden confirmed the news to reporters on January 8th, where he specifically mentioned, “I will introduce an immigration bill immediately.”

This new waiting period would actually shave off the 5-year waiting period from the 13-year delay needed under the current regulations.

While the Democrats seem optimistic about the new bill, Republicans continue to remain doubtful on the controversial topic. “These are not the actions of anyone who is trying hard to unify this country,” explained Girdusky.
