The new facility will house the huge influx of migrants that keep crossing the Mexico border through illegal means.

According to media outlets, the new facility in Eagle Pass, Texas will be very similar to the current one located in Carrizo Springs. This is where hundreds of young kids that crossed into the nation, without any other members of their families, are being housed.

Currently, the US government has made due efforts to restart the processing of all of those who have active and pending cases and hence were forced to wait in Mexico during Donald Trump’s administration. These people were situated at 3 border crossings between the two nations.

For both the Mexican nation and the Biden administration, a camp of immigrants that were located on the banks of the Rio Grande turned into a major priority. Currently, the facility holds around 750 people but the city is very dangerous with camp residents getting hit badly due to poor winter storm conditions in both Texas and Mexico.

With that being said, the situation is further worsening as the COVID-19 pandemic looms, making it a complicated mess. For this reason, the facility’s capacity is currently functioning at a reduced number so that shelters may provide an added degree of safety for the migrants.
