Biden Swipes At Sanders’ “Very Controversial Ideas” After South Carolina Win


Former Vice President Joe Biden targets Bernie Sanders on Sunday, pointing out that the senator’s policies are “very controversial.

He also said that Sanders would lose to President Donald Trump if he becomes the Democratic party’s presidential nominee.

In a statement, Biden said, “They are not looking for revolution, they are looking for results, they’re looking for change, they’re looking for movement forward.”

When asked about his opinion if Sanders does not stand a chance against the President, he replied, “I do.”

While referring to Sanders’ Medicare of All health care plan, he said, “I think Bernie Sanders’ positions on a number of issues, even in the Democratic Party, are very controversial.”

“Everybody’s going to look at Bernie’s record as closely as they’ve looked at mine over the last five months, and I think they’re going to see some stark differences in where we stand,” he added.

Biden recently emerged victorious over the South Carolina primary, with an overwhelming 30-point win over Sanders.

He won the support of the voters of all stripes – men, women, white voters, non-white voters, the college-educated, non-college educated, liberals, moderates and conservatives in exit polls.

Meanwhile, Biden told “Meet the Press” that his campaign $5 million in the past 24 hours, which he calls a fundraising record for him.

He admits Sanders significantly out-raised him, as Sanders’ campaign announced that they have raised more than $46 million in February.

However, the former president argued that his win at South Carolina primary proves that a candidate can still will despite being outspent.

“I think I can win it before the convention,” he said. We’re moving into constituencies that, when they hear me, have always been mine — diverse communities; white, working-class folk; African Americans and Hispanics; people in the middle class; women in the suburbs.”
