The famous American brand of frozen food known as ‘Birds Eye’ has recently changed its captain for the first time in history.
The replacement is done with a 24-year old Charlotte Carter-Dunn who is a foster carer. She is to be crowned as ‘Captain Charlotte’ for a limited period as she won the nationwide competition.
Charlotte won the hearts of the judges by convincing them of her skills through her impersonation of the famous seafarer. Among the 500 entrants, only she bagged this opportunity.
Carter-Dunn is a mother to two foster children who loves to eat frozen food baked by her. She gave frozen food tips from her intensive experience.
Charlotte believes that frozen foods make life easy and saves food from getting wasted. According to her, you don’t have to make big, luxurious meat dishes to entertain your family and friends parties, you can get enough storage of frozen foods and bake them instantly on the spot as much as you want.
She also counsels women on managing the freezer by dividing it into 3 parts. One part should be for instant meals like fish chips, pizza pops so you can avail them upfront whenever you are in a hurry.
The second part should be add ons, like vegetables and potatoes and the third section could be of the ‘not so ready meat’ like fish or chicken that needs to be defrosted first.
Captain Charlotte also believes in storing the leftover foods in the freezer instead of wasting it. She calls it iffits, if it is there eat it that you can take out and eat when there’s nothing else to eat at the end of the month. It not only saves the food wastes but also makes space in the freezer.
Charlotte is delighted to win the competition and says she never thought she would become the face for the Birds Eye one day.
