Apparently, this young activist was wearing a black face mask with an anti-police slogan “f*** 12” embellished on it which is a slang version of saying an F word to the police. The flight attendant took offense of it and asked her to remove the mask if she wanted to fly.

Arlinda Johns abided by the rule but she was still thrown out of the flight. The flight attendant came back to her after she changed her mask and wore a surgical mask instead saying “ I better not see that mask”. The passenger was wearing a “black lives matter” shirt.

Johns recorded a video narrating the whole story and she also believes she was subjected to racism because she was black.

On the contrary, as per the airline crew, Arlinda wore her mask again that’s why she was asked to leave. Speaking to the media, the airline said she was asked to deplane only when she did not comply with the instructions of the crew. She initially took off her mask but wore it again.

According to the activist, she was told to not wear the mask even after she took it off and replaced it with another when the plane was about to take off. She told the attendant to leave her alone on which she stared at her for a few moments and said “Ok, I got you”. The plane then returned to the gate and the staff escorted her.

Johns says she has flown on American Airlines before but this was her first bad experience. She has hired an attorney to seek legal help in this matter.
