A 21-year old young man was hit by a car on 22nd July in the Southmead area of Bristol.
The unnamed man’s cheekbone, nose and leg are badly broken. According to the doctors, he will have a minimum of 6-months recovery ahead of him. The young man works at Southmead Hospital.
The victim was horrendously struck by a car and was also called a F***ing n***r. He believes people should know what happened to him so they stay safe. The victim has to go through plastic surgery to his face because of the severe trauma and he is already walking on crutches.
Elaborating his condition, he said he cannot play his music, play football or go to the gym as he used to. He doesn’t even feel safe going outside anymore. Moreover, the young victim of this heinous crime has to sleep while sitting up.
The police department is trying hard to find those responsible and believe this was a racially charged crime. The hate crimes against Black community are increasing with everyday passing since the demonstrations against racial injustice have erupted after the unjust death of George Floyd at the hands of a White cop. The country is polarizing and further divided in opinions.
Friends and family members of this 21-year old unnamed man have shared his pictures online to warn people and request for witnesses to come out. The police have also made a statement to appreciate if any witness wants to come out and narrate what happened.
Meanwhile, the victim has requested everyone to respect his family’s privacy and appreciated the help he has been receiving since then. Speaking about it, he said though it is a tough time for him but they will rise again as a family and will not let the haters win. According to him, this will make them even stronger.
