He was doing fine till Monday morning and no new symptoms had shown up. In the afternoon on the same day, symptoms began to tweak up instantly. That’s when the team of doctors taking care of him decided to move him to the intensive care unit after a thorough contemplation.

Boris Johnson was already being given oxygen before he advanced towards the ICU. It implies ‘oxygen saturations’ must have started to occur in his lungs to some extent. It’s a no-brainer, it is the chief symptom that could be found in the body of those infected with the coronavirus.

Boris Johnson has yet not been put on a ventilator, as per the spokesperson of the hospital. He is under thorough supervision of doctors in the intensive care ward who would be attending to his day in and day out.

To be concise, the doctors have taken a preemptive measure by transferring him to the intensive care unit. It is to prevent a situation where he needs to be rushed to the ICU for ventilation. Now that he’s there, he can be ventilated in little to no time in case he direly needs it.

Everyone in the UK would hope to see Boris Johnson back to work at No 10, but in case he takes a reasonable amount of time to recover from these symptoms, Dominic Raab would be taking charge of the Prime Minister’s affairs.

Dominic Raab, the foreign secretary, has been asked by Boris Johnson to substitute for him wherever it’s inevitable. Mr. Raab has conceded to the urging of his senior colleague and long term friend. Meanwhile, he hopes to see him back to his office at 10 downing street.
