Surveillance Camera Captured A Black-owned Boutique Looted In Less Than A Minute


A surveillance camera captured dozens of people ransacking a boutique during a night protest in Philadelphia.

The protestors looted more than 200 businesses during their violent march against the tragic killing of Walter Wallace. At 4 am Tuesday, a swarm of looters rushed into a small clothing store, Levanter boutique.

The owner of the boutique broke out, saying we lost everything in less than 60 seconds. The black owner was deeply saddened to get destroyed by her own community; This was not the first time this store was robbed; the tragedy happened earlier in October.

Jameelah Scurry, the owner of the store, had a telephonic conversation with the media. She shared her struggle and journey behind the success of this store. She told how she and her brother, an ex-police officer, started from scratch.

They sold their home, left their jobs, and invested all their time, sweat, and money to start this business. She could not express the shock and grief of losing everything in seconds that she earned in years. The business was already affected by the pandemic and a robbery that took place on August 27. Now, after this tragedy, they’ve nothing left to lose.

The whole business community had lost their hope in the administration who failed to protect their lives and assets. She also acknowledged and thanked all those people who reached her for condolences and prayers. However, after this tragic incident, she has no plan to continue this business.

The response to the death of Walter Wallace had put the peace of the city at stake. The family of Walter Wallace said, “The civil violence and these loots are not helping them.” The family requested the protestors to put an end to this chaos and violence.
