Lopes was given rat poison in her food with the incident being carried out at her own home which is located in Itaperma, Brazil. The mum was breastfeeding her 3-month-old child during those days. For this reason, it is believed that the poison entered into her breast milk and hence passed on to the little child who ingested the contaminated milk.
