A man is shot dead at the hands of a white man who made multiple gunshots at a peaceful protest at Jefferson Square Park in Kentucky.
The protesters were demonstrating quite peacefully demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was shot dead at her apartment by three police officers. The 26-years old young woman was having a normal day at her apartment when three plain-sued cops struck the door and shot her 8 times.
The park has been the hub of these protests and it was rather a peaceful rally. The viral video shows disturbing scenes as a man opens fire at the demonstrators which created a panic. A few moments later, a group of people is seen rushing towards a man who is lying dead in his pool of blood.
Cops are also informed of another victim of a gunshot at the Hall of Justice. He was immediately taken to hospital where he is sustaining injuries that are not threatening for life.
The police department at Louisville stated that they received reports of gunshots at the park and also confirmed the death of a man who died from a gunshot. They later received a call from the Hall of Justice with the same kind of news but the man is out of any life-threatening risk.
According to multiple reports, the gunshots were heard at 9pm on Saturday at Jefferson Square Park where at least two people were struck. The park is now banned for the public as the police are searching for evidence and an investigation is being carried out to explore the whole matter.
The Mayor has taken account of the shooting and issued his statement. He says he is grieved to know how chaos erupted at the Jefferson Park where peaceful demonstrators were gathered for a cause.
He says he is deeply saddened by the violence and how the park has now turned into a crime scene. Taylor’s mother condemned the violence saying people should not kill each other.
