Thousands Of California Residents Flee As The State’s Largest-ever Wildfires Burned 1.2 Million Acres


Residents of California are continuing to flee as the wildfires get worse day by day, and firefighters are fighting a battle against the flame 24 hours.

This fire has forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes, and it has burned almost one million acres, it is feared that with upcoming weather conditions, the situation can get even worse.

The National Weather Service is concerned about the state’s fire and has announced that dry thunderstorms are coming, and these weather conditions can cause irregular winds, that can create more and new fires within existing fires.

The peak of the Fire season in California occurs between August to November, but the wildfire to be this worse, this early is shocking. On Sunday, National Guard Troops, military planes, and crews across the U.S came down to California to control the fire.

According to CalFire public information officer Jeremy Rahn, hundreds of lightning strikes hit the state last week, which started the fire and burned almost 1.2 million acres. Jeremy Rahn also stated, about 2,600 firefighters are battling against the two largest blazes out of dozen fire blazes.

Short and long-range fire behavior is making it hard to control. Fire is continuing to spread in different directions, and it is affecting every community that is coming under its way.

Assemblyman Jim Wood of the Healdsburg district says, our fighters have been in fires for 72 hours, 2,400 fire engines are in the battle, more engines have been requested. CalFire spokesman Daniel Berlant said, 200 aircraft planes are dropping loads of water, monitoring the fire situation, and carrying the equipment for fighters.

The fire which started last week from the dry lightning strikes in California has killed six people by now and has destroyed nearly 1,000 houses. The smoke and ashes have been spread out all over the northern part of California, and it can see visibly from several states away.

According to Daniel Berlant said that this is considered to be the second-largest wildfire in the state and till now only 17 percent has been contained.

Wildfire in LNU complex, which started as a string of smaller fires in Napa and Sonoma, emerged into a massive fire, and by now roughly 340,000 acres have been burned.

A wildfire that spreads in the SCU complex is only 10 percent contained.

Santa Cruz, County Sheriff Jim Hart says the effort to control the fire was hindered by the people who were not obeying the evacuation order and were taking advantage of this chaos to steal. According to the sheriff, 100 officers are appointed, and anyone who is in the evacuation zone will be arrested.

California is struggling with the highest cases of coronavirus in the U.S, now together with the black smoke emitting from the fire will be a respiratory nightmare for the people.
