A Texas woman accused of participating in the US Capitol riot has asked a federal judge to let her travel to Mexico for a “work-related bonding retreat”.

In a motion filed in federal court Monday, Jenny Louise Cudd asked to let her travel to Riviera Maya with employees of her flower shop this month.

“This is a work-related bonding retreat for employees and their spouses,” attorney Farheena Siddiqui wrote.

“Ms. Cudd has appeared at her scheduled court appearance, remains in constant contact with her attorney, and has remained in contact with pretrial probation, as ordered.”

The conditions of her release include not allowing her to travel to Washington unless it is for a court appearance or a meeting with her attorneys or authorities.

She is also not allowed to travel outside Texas, and she will need a judge’s approval to travel overseas.

Cudd, who owns a flower shop and an unsuccessful mayoral candidate, was one of many who confirmed to have participated in the riot, as she stated on a Facebook video, “I was here today on Jan. 6th when the new revolution started at the Capitol.”

However, the Justice Department has described Cudd as unrepentant for her role at the Capitol riot, noting her comments on interviews and Facebook comments.

“F— yes, I am proud of my actions, I f—ing charged the Capitol today with patriots today. Hell, yes, I am proud of my actions,” said Cudd in a Facebook video.

She also denied any wrongdoing, pointing out that she did not bring any weapons or ammunition at the Capitol.

“I went inside the Capitol completely legally, and I did not do anything to hurt anybody or destroy any property,” she said.

“So what they’re trying to do is cancel me because I stood up for what I believe in, and I can tell you this it’s – and it’s what I’ve told everybody – I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
