Car Drives Through Black Lives Matter Protesters In Times Square, New York


A car drove through the BLM crowd, who were demonstrating in NewYork time square, injuring many people.

BLM crowd was protesting for Daniel Prude, who was suffocated to death by the cops when the car plows through the crowd and injured dozens of people.

This incident happened on Thursday evening in Times Square, where BLM supporters were gathered and were protesting over the death of 41-year-old Daniel prude, who was suffocated to death when the cops put a spit hood on his head and pushed him on the ground.

Footage shared by DataInput on Twitter shows the number of people who were gathered together met the counter-protesters. New Yorkers, who were on bicycles were trying to stop the black Ford Taurus from getting into the crowd. In the footage, the car was seen moving forward briefly, before accelerating into the crowd and pushing people away. Screams echoed through the crowd as people were trying to run away from the car.

According to the initial reports, the vehicle was speculated to be the unmarked police car. Also, according to the witnesses, they saw a police officer driving that vehicle, but the NewYork police department denied the accusation and said that the vehicle was not an NYPD vehicle.

Authorities also said there were no reported injuries around 10 pm, but the additional footage which was shared by Gwen Hogan shows the number of people who were injured and were calling out for the medic. 

A 33-year-old Lora Gettelfinger, who was struck by the car said, he is still in shock but happy that he is alive.

Qaaree McDaniel, who was assigned as security detail, said that he saw people getting hit by the car. He also added that the authorities were so passive about the incident, and had a blasé reaction about it.

After the incident, protesters got together again and continued marching towards Columbus Circle.

Senator Brad Hoylman has asked the authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and identify the driver. He further added, a total of 66 incidents has occurred since 6th July, where the car drove through the Black Lives Matter protesters.

The BLM protest on Thursday took place when the video of Daniel Prude resurfaced on the internet. He was seen wearing a spit hood and pushed down by the cops. He was declared brain dead, and a week later, died in the hospital.
