Jonathan Mattingly is a Louisville’s Metro Police Sgt who was shot in the thigh and had five hours of surgery to recondition his femoral artery after the raid that happened on 13th March. Mattingly filed a countersuit against Walker claiming battery, assault, and emotional anxiety, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal report.

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron said that the six shots that Mattingly fired into Taylor’s apartment were an acceptable reaction to him for being shot at the time of the raid.

Detective Myles Cosgrove and former Detective Brett Hankison also opened fire, counting a total of 32 shots, firing Taylor six times what killed her in her apartment. Police later reported that there were no drugs found in Taylor’s apartment.

The officers were not criminally charged for killing Taylor. However, Hankinson, who was later fired, was claimed not guilty to purposefully opening fire into a neighboring apartment. He and the other police officers were cleared of criminality in Taylor’s death.

Attorney Steve Romines said Walker is clear from criminal prosecution and civil liability considering the fact that he was acting in self-defense in his own home.
