Veteran Minneapolis Cop Who ‘Accidentally’ Shot & Killed Daunte Wright Resigns Amid Mounting Pressure


The cop who shot and killed Daunte Wright instead of tasering him has stepped down from her position in the police force.

Local media outlets confirmed the news that took place moments ago amid mounting pressure piling upon the Minneapolis State Department to fire her from her position. However, sources revealed how she refused to offer any form of apology to Daunte Wright’s parents or family members while her police chief boss also resigned.

20-year-old Daunte Wright was brutally shot yesterday by the police officer from Brooklyn Center, claiming how she assumed that she was tasering him, until the gunshots came out. On that note, the officer’s bodycam footage revealed her as stating, “Oh shit, I think I shot him.”

The veteran police officer was identified as 48-year-old Kimberly Potter. The officers reportedly pulled Wright out of his vehicle over the offense of an expired licensed number plate tags, claimed sources.

Moreover, media reports spoke about how a huge struggle broke out all of a sudden between the cops and Wright when they began to arrest him for the offense. When they ran his name, they figured that he also had one outstanding warrant too.

Potter resigned from the Brooklyn Center police department this morning, and her resignation is effective immediately.

While authorities are yet to confirm the exact nature of the warrant, court records did go on to reveal how he was being held up on the basis of a misdemeanor for carrying a gun without any form of the permit as well as the misdemeanor for fleeing away from the police too.
