Parents have found exciting and crazy ways of pranking their kids before Christmas Eve. A mother of a six-year-old girl lately ruined her daughter’s face with long-lasting bright red lipstick. Thienna Huish, 6, was scared to see her face sabotaged with red marks when she saw the mirror. The young kid thought Elf, a schemed toy named chicken, had done this to her face.

Some parents have gone too far with the Elf on the shelf Prank, a tradition inspired by a children’s story narrated by Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell. The book was released in 2005 and featured fictional characters known as elves.

Elves are the scouts of Santa Claus who observe the children’s behavior before Christmas and report back to Santa so he can know whether the kids are behaving well or not. The story teaches children about the consequences of their good and bad actions.

Claire, 35, said it was fun to prank with Thienne, but she felt bad when she had to go to school with a red face. The mother orchestrated the prank when everyone in the house was asleep, and the lights were dimmed.

The mother admitted that she put a bit too much lipstick on Thienna’s face because it was dark and she couldn’t see anything. The lipstick was 24-hours long-lasting, and despite cleansing the face with wipes, it didn’t get off completely. Claire thinks she loves Elves more than Thienna, and she enjoys giving extreme surprises to her daughter.
