A bodybuilder is slammed online after he shared a photo of his “lean” eight-month-old baby and claims he only feeds him fruits, vegetables, and eggs.
Jack Reynolds, from Colorado, is currently in hot waters for saying that his son’s diet consists of “whole eggs, whole fruit, whole vegetables,” and water.
“We grind up his vegetables/proteins most the time until he can chomp away on his own,” Reynolds said.
In a social media post, the fitness-obsessed dad lists his son’s stats, saying “99% percentile height/head size 70% percentile weight.”
“He’s lean bc he isn’t eating processed sh*t,” Reynolds continued. “And unusually handsome.”
However, many people were shocked to know Reynolds’ diet for his baby.
“I hope you forgot to say the words breast milk or formula,” one user commented. “Because if those things are all you are feeding your 8 months old you need to tell your pediatrician so they can explain to you how you are doing it wrong.”
“Also, it is hella f**ked up to brag about a lean baby, gross!” another said.
“Ah yes, a “lean baby” is a normal thing to brag about,” another user commented.
Some social media users also argued that the baby’s weight relies heavily on genetics, while others trash-talked Reynold’s son like one bodybuilding man might do to another.
“He’s skipping leg day,” one user said.
“How much does your kid lift?” another one said.
“I feed my 8-month-old red bull and taco bell,” another man said. “He’s 4 feet tall and would easily defeat your child in hand-to-hand combat.”
While 8-month-old babies should have already been introduced to solids, they should also be consuming 24 to 32 ounces of formula or breast milk daily, WebMD says.
It’s unknown if Reynold’s baby is drinking formula or breast milk as he did not mention them in the social media post.
