Kim Chown, a victim sexually abused by her own father is revealing the real-life trauma and horror that she underwent as a young girl.
During her school years, Kim explains how her upbringing was very different from that of other young kids her age. And thanks to her father, the scars of her ruined childhood still haunt her in more ways than one.
As a young teen, Kim didn’t have one uniform. Instead, she had two. One uniform comprised of lingerie that her dad would enforce upon her to wear in the mornings, right before he sexually abused her. And the other one was her regular school uniform.
Before the young teen would head on off for her morning class, her dad would force her to ‘strut her stuff’ in suspenders and stockings. Shortly after that, he played with her and then went about raping her for hours without anyone noticing his brutal actions.
When she was just 15, Kim became pregnant with her dad’s baby. And when he found out, it was like all hell had broken loose. He forced her to have a DIY abortion which was horrifying, to say the least. The incident took place a few thousand miles away from her Leeds hometown, so no one would ever hear about the terrifying abortion.
Soon after, her dad took shifted to Kenya with her, and that’s when her new life began.
Leaving her past behind her, Kim claims she was able to move on with her life and today, she’s a happily married mum of two. But now she feels it’s the right time to bravely reveal the torture relating to physical as well as mental abuse via a book that she’s written herself.
“At the age of 52, the entire purpose of doing so was to raise awareness on the issue,” she adds so that others don’t have to suffer in silence as she did through the hands of her very own dad.
