It was a father’s nightmare come true as his daughter’s daydreaming actually turned out to be fatal.
The young child was diagnosed by doctors as having a relatively rare condition, known as childhood dementia. Moreover, the heartbreaking incident took place last week.
Relatively known as Batten’s Disease, the symptoms seemed to be prevalent in little Adelei Clarke. She appeared to be a little clumsy at first, not to mention how she always looked to be daydreaming.
However, it was a major reality check for her parents, when she suffered her very first seizure, last May. On that occasion, her parents became very worried about their baby girl’s status.
In particular, her father, 35-year-old David, and mother, 36-year-old Hayley, appeared devastated to find out the truth. The fact that their little girl could die before she even turned 10 was just earth-shattering for them.
Other than that, the disease will cause a number of other tragic symptoms. This includes enabling her to lose her vision, while forgetting to recognize her own parents, by this year’s end.
David, who is Addy’s father, claims that as her symptoms started to appear, they felt that she was just engaged in ‘daydreaming.’ However, as days passed out, the striking reality made them realize that something was truly wrong.
‘The lights would be on but nobody would be home. Moreover, she would stumble over and we assumed that she was just being a little clumsy,’ he exclaimed.
At the same time, the agonized father reveals how his daughter didn’t learn to speak at a normal pace. And that’s when her parents decided it was time to visit a speech therapist. But they never revealed anything alarming.
They always explained how she would be one of those kids who would not stop chatting, once she grew older.
