3-Year-Old Dog Loses Eyes After Owner Fails To Treat Infection On Time


Cruel pet owners in California made headlines after their 3-year-old dog lost his eyes after they refused to treat his infection on time.

The painstakingly emotional story sent citizens in shock and fury, after seeing the poor pup’s drastic condition. According to media reports, doctors had to surgically remove the blind dog’s eyes as his owners refused to pay for the treatment of his infection.

Now, the 3-year-old furry friend is in search of a caring home forever as they’re giving him up for adoption.

News agencies confirmed how the blind labrador and shepherd mix is currently suffering from a broken leg too. And that’s because he was struck by a car. Unfortunately, his cruel caretakers thought to give him up for adoption, even before his leg wounds healed properly.

Just late last month, Louis was taken to California’s Helen Woodward Animal Center in Santa Fe for treatment. His misery started when he first caught an infection in his eyes, as mentioned by the rescue’s website.

Since his owners failed to pay heed to his condition and pay for his treatment, the infection started to spread quickly.point 103 | And in the end.point 115 | it spread through both eyes so fast that doctors removed both of his eyes.point 176 | But if that pain and torture weren’t enough, a car struck Louis, leading him to break his leg.point 259 |

Unable to care for a ‘blind and injured’ dog, his owners surrendered him to an animal shelter. There is where he received emergency surgery for the urgent repair of his leg.

The rescue described little Louis as a shy and exhausted pup. However, they did mention how after just a day at the foster care center, he’s up and excited, waving his tail too. In the same way, his foster mum explained how the dog loves sunbathing, attention, and mingling with his other dog friends.

From Wednesday onwards, little Louis will be in search of a new caring and loving home. And until then, his journey at the foster care center continues.
