Robert Trump had been hospitalized for some serious yet undisclosed disease where he battled for his life for a couple of days.
On Saturday, he lost the battle at New York hospital.
An undisclosed source who is familiar with the latest development in Trump’s family told CNN that the president seems saddened by the loss of his brother.
In a press release, he said that his heart is heavy on the departure of this brother but Robert peacefully passed away. He was not only a brother but a best friend to Donald Trump.
He also said he will miss him greatly but will meet again. According to the president, Robert’s memory will stay in his heart forever.
Meanwhile, Ivana Trump also took it to Twitter to share her grief over the death of her uncle saying, “Uncle Robert, we love you. You are in our hearts and prayers, always.”
The president had not revealed any information regarding Robert Trump’s illness. When a reporter asked him about his health condition, he said that he is not doing great. He is under tough circumstances.
According to the sources, the president called his brother’s room a few moments before he died. It seems like he was informed of his deteriorating health.
Robert Trump was born in 1948 and he was an active and senior member of the Trump organization where he supervised business. He served as an executive vice president of the organisation and looked after Atlantic City casinos.
He was the last one of four Trump siblings. He resided in Millbrook, NY in the Hudson Valley. Robert Trump supported his brother Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and he also held events for him and other Republican candidates.
Giving his statement to the media, President Donald Trump said he is deeply grieved over the demise of his youngest brother who he really loved. He said he had a very beautiful relationship with Robert since day one.
