Shakespeare said long ago, “what’s there in the name?” It seems to have proved wrong recently.

Elon Musk and his partner have given their newborn baby an eccentric and out of the box name which is likely to invite a bit of trouble for them. Naming their child in an untraditional way is going to cost them something valuable.

The question raises, will their child, after growing up, be ready to face the repercussions of being given an unconventional name? Will the child be ready to understand the sensitivity of this name when he develops into a teenager? Well, let’s leave these things to Elon musk and his partner, Grimes.

As for now, the unlikely news is, their newborn will not be accepted in California as the state accepts only English alphabets for names on birth certificates. The foreign script has no room of acceptance in California state, hence X AE A-12 is least likely to be welcomed there.

If you go through the birth registration handbook of California, you’ll know it strictly forbids anything other than 26 English alphabets. Even if you’re a foreigner with a non-American name, your name will have to be translated in English alphabets in order to be accepted by the Californian birth registration department.

Using Roman numerals, umlauts, symbols and emojis is highly disregarded and discouraged in California state albeit it’s not been declared a formal law yet. However, all the officials just make sure to follow this pattern. Hence, they are not likely to give any leverage to Elon musk’s child.

Family attorney, David J Glass expounded this vexed practice saying, “I don’t think it’s illegal, it just won’t be accepted.” He clearly implied that the Californian authorities do not permit anything besides 26 alphabets of English.

It means that Tesla’s CEO and his partner Grimes, a singer by profession, will have to opt for another name to get their child registered in California, or else, they can dump California and choose another American state for the birth registration of their newborn.
