Benjamin Keough, the son of actress Lisa Marie Presley and the grandson of Elvis Presley, has died in an apparent, “self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sources from law enforcement said that the 27-year-old musician was found in Calabasas, California Sunday.
Roger Widynowski, Lisa Marie Presley’s manager confirmed his death in a statement, in which he says, “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”
While Benjamin had a couple of acting credits under his name, and even struck a record deal in 2009 worth $5 million with Universal, yet he maintained a low profile throughout the years.
At the time, he said in an interview that his music “will be nothing like Elvis, nothing like him at all.”
He is however, well known for looking almost identical to his famous grandfather, Elvis.
“Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage,” Lisa Marie shared in an interview. “Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”
In another interview, Lisa Marie was asked about his resemblance, to which she replied, “Sometimes a lot. It depends how he’s fixing himself up. Yeah, without question actually.”
Benjamin was the son of musician Danny Keough and brother to actress Riley Keough, who has been in a number of indie and horror films over the years including “The Lodge” in 2019.
Lisa Marie and Benjamin were said to be close, and were even reported to have gotten matching tattoos in 2009.
She even wrote a song about him called “Storm and Grace,” – Storm being Benjamin’s second name.
