ADOPTED! Every Dog from a Kansas City Shelter Found Their Forever Home Thanks To Derrick Nnadi’s Promise


Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi made good on his promise and paid all the adoption fees of more than 100 dogs in KC Pet Project’s animal shelter.

Now, each kennel of one of KC Pet Project’s animal shelters is empty thanks to his generosity.

On a statement written on Facebook by the nonprofit charitable organization they wrote, “Because of Derrick Nnadi’s generous sponsorship, our Petco Adoption Center has no more dogs to adopt. Every kennel is empty tonight – how wonderful!”

Nnadi previously collaborated with the Missouri animal rescue organization this season, promising to pay a dog’s adoption fee for every Chief’s win, and they won total of 15 games, post season included.

When they made it to the Super Bowl, he then decided to pay for all the dog’s adoption fees if the Chief’s won.

The means he paid for all 109 dogs in one of KC Pet Project’s animal shelter, with an average adoption fee of $150 each.

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray jumped in too, when she offered a free whole year’s supply pet food for every dog Nnadi paid for.

During an interview, Nnadi said that he always wanted a dog all his life, but did not have the chance when he was growing up because his parents did not allow it.

Only during his senior year when hi got his first dog, Rocky, who gave him the inspiration to help other animals.

To him, having Rocky made him think about the other animals that needed some help.

He said that making the promise made gave him the extra motivation he needed to go out and give it all in the game.

According to their website, the KC Pet Project has helped more than 10,000 animals a year, and while one of their shelters is empty, there are still some adoptable goodest bois and girls available at their other locations.
