Former Facebook CEO is urging users to delete the Facebook application before it’s too late.
The shocking news comes as he slammed Mark Zuckerberg’s sad decision of blocking news in Australia. Now, he’s encouraging Australians to delete the application completely, as a means of protest.
Facebook recently sent plenty of heads turning while spreading anger and fury amongst Australians around the globe.
And that’s because the social media giant announced how it was blocking Australians from reading as well as sharing local news. This was a response to the world-first law to make several tech giants payout media companies for all the content that they use.
From Thursday, Australians mentioned how they went to their reliable Facebook news accounts, only to find out more shocking news. And that’s when they received a text message stating that no more posts were available. Moreover, even news from overseas was hidden.
Australia’s and New Zealand’s former Facebook chief executive officer announced how the move was undoubtedly controversial and not only looks ugly but feels very ugly too. Moreover, he blasted Mark Zuckerberg for his vile motivations in doing so.
“It should never have happened in the first place. But unfortunately, it did. And there are no good answers.” He also talked about how actions have consequences but in Facebook’s world, no one ever loses their jobs or is held accountable for their actions.
Screenshots showed notifications from the social media giant mentioning how a news article can no longer be shared. Many talked about how it’s more or less about money and money for both Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. And through that, they were actually ignoring all of the good.
Some Australian leaders questioned if a Chinese company had done the same, we would probably be up in arms. Therefore, authorities warned how Australians should be very alarmed by all of this news.
Mr. Scheeler, who resigned in the year 2017 has encouraged Australians to delete the application as means of expressing a stern message to the mega-company.
