The child couldn’t stand the violence. Her upper left arm got bruises and red marks after getting hit 23 times. The mother tried to stop the father, but she got slapped for intervening.
The father, who was sentenced to 12 months and was also sentenced to 18-month Community Corrections Order, narrowly avoided the time behind bars for three assault charges. The case was heard on Tuesday at Manly Local Court.

Timothy Kent, the defense lawyer, argued that what the father did was to discipline and train the child. He also said, “The father didn’t beat the child so hard that she bleeds or any significant harm is caused.”
In the hearing on Tuesday, It was declared in court that the father has anger issues and is suffering from depression as his business is not doing well due to the pandemic. Despite all the arguments given, the prosecutor and magistrate said the attitude can not be justified and is condemnable by all means.
Earlier in July 2020, a man was also prisoned for beating his 2-year-old son during potty training. The victim got several severe injuries, and the father lied to the hospital staff, saying that his son was hitten by a stranger.
