A father was arrested for murdering his infant son in Wisconsin.
A father has been charged with child abuse and in connection with the death of his newborn son, whose wounds were equated by doctors to those of a high-speed vehicle accident victim in Wisconsin.
The 28-year-old father, Ramel Echols, was arrested last Wednesday after the hospitalization of his four months old son, Ky’mir Williams who was diagnosed with a brain bleed and bruising to the stomach.
After five days of fighting for his life, the infant baby was taken off respirator last Friday.
Echols did not offer any explanation for his son’s injuries. The prosecuting attorney anticipated filing additional charges against the father of murder, police reported.
As stated in the criminal complaint, on the morning of 12th October, Echols noticed his son was throwing up blood and milk and called the baby’s mother.
When Ky’mir’s mother told Echols to call 911, declaredly waited before driving his son to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
The doctors who examined the infant boy claimed that the injures were so critical that they were similar to a high-speed car crash victim’s wounds and injuries, along with bleeding on the brain and bruises on the stomach.
On Tuesday, Echols remained at the Milwaukee County jail on charges of child abuse, carelessly causing critical body injuries, and fail to care for a child. His conditional release was set at $30,000.
Nichols will be back in court on 23rd October for a preliminary hearing. However, Echol’s family started posting on social media against Ky’mir’s mother, objecting to her that she tried to frame Ramel.
Nevertheless, police have not arrested or charged the boy’s mother with any crime.
The Court revealed files that Ramel Echols has a criminal history in Wisconsin, which contains a 2011 conviction for an armed robbery, and a 2015 conviction for driving a vehicle without permission.
