Florida School Officer Fired For Using N-Word On Bodycam


A black school resource officer from Florida was fired from his job recently after bodycam footage showed him using the N-word.

According to media reports, Delvin White was a school officer belonging to Florida’s Middleton High School. He was recently dismissed from his position on Tuesday after violating the policy that prohibits all forms of discriminatory misconduct, as mentioned by Tampa’s police department.

Moreover, the officer made use of the racial slur as he continued on the phone while driving off-duty towards his home. He kept on repeating the word, several times while speaking in a conversation with his wife.

On the other hand, startling footage captured Delvin White using the derogatory and insensitive term twice, while he was carrying out an arrest for an alleged culprit, guilty of trespassing. This particular incident took place on the 30th of November last year, confirmed by the police department.

The officer mentioned to his supervisor how he never intended on using the word in its derogatory sense while he was carrying out an arrest, confirmed fellow authorities. Instead, he talked about how he used the term as a ‘commonly used word in today’s modern society’. He put particular emphasis upon how the word is used repeatedly for shared culture as well as a plethora of experiences amongst the Black African American race, explained officers.
