Authorities in France shut down Paris’s Grand Mosque amid a crackdown that followed a teacher’s killing.
France ordered respective authorities to temporarily close down Paris’ Grand Mosque of Pantin, just days after the beheading of a middle school teacher. Moreover, the incident is confirmed as a part of the major crackdown over people looking to spread hate and disunity amongst the French community.
According to reports, the middle school teacher showed his class caricature images of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. And that is the main reason behind the teacher’s beheading.
The grand Muslim mosque is situated in a low-income suburban district.
Therefore, the exact location is the capital’s northeastern region.Recently, the mosque came forward in sharing a hatred themed video over its Facebook page, moments before the attack. It seemed to instigate more hatred and disunity against the slain teacher, Samuel Paty.
For that reason, police made it a point to take no more risks in terms of security. Therefore, they plastered notices relating to closure across the mosque’s outside area. Meanwhile, French authorities promised citizens a tough response over anyone that promotes hate messages or material. This includes those preaching controversial sermons as well as foreigners that may endanger the lives of others.
French authorities confirmed how the 6-month order was solely in place to prevent any form of terrorism or terrorist attacks.
Recent investigations revealed some interesting facts related to the case. And that’s when they found out how the attacker was actually in conversation with a parent who condemned the teacher’s actions. Hence, he wanted the teacher fired.
The French President promised to bring those responsible to justice. Likewise, he intends to place more pressure upon the case that led to a dozen arrests, mosque closure, and dissolving of a Pro-Hamas group.
At the same time, the president explained how the French nation believes in actions. For this reason, he plans to take all necessary measures to arrest the culprit. Reports confirmed that the attacker is an 18-year-old teen and hence, the search for him continues.
The alleged attacker put up his cellphone number on Facebook. Here, he exchanged texts with another man who wanted the teacher fired for obvious reasons. Until now, the police are still on the search for the murderer. And they’re taking all precautions to maintain peace in the country.
