The same incident happened this Saturday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan where the protests broke out across various cities after the rape and murder of a young girl due to public anger at what is seen as the authorities’ failure to investigate such cases.
A young girl named Madiha has been found dead in bushes after she got suddenly disappeared from her village on Saturday. She was raped, murdered and dumped in the bushes and was found after one day. Her age is not confirmed yet but according to various sources, it is reported to be between 7 to 9.
After her body was found in the bushes by her relatives, the family took to the streets blocking the roads and demanding justice for the young Madiha. But the demonstration had to be stopped after the police arrived at the spot and gave assurance to the family to catch the culprits.
This sad incident has sparked fury across the whole country as this is not the first time such kind of case has occurred. A few months ago, a 7 years old girl, Zainab, was also raped and brutally murdered in the city of Lahore.
Netizens took to twitter and started a campaign with the hashtag #JusticeforMadiha demanding the government to take strict actions against the ones found guilty of this monstrous crime.
A famous filmmaker of the country showed her anger in a tweet, saying: ‘Stop making excuses! Children of Pakistan are screaming for help. Child sexual abuse is happening in homes, streets, madrassas, villages, cities.
While another netizen demanded to impose national emergency against minor molestation and murder.
Even though Pakistan National Assembly has passed Zainab Alert Bill that addresses sexual crimes against children and proposes sentences, still it seems like passing a Bill has nothing is not enough to stop such crimes and strict actions should be taken right away against the ones found guilty.point 478 | 1
