The Muslim family of a 17-year-old girl will face a trial on the charges of violence against minors.
Girls’ parents, uncle, and aunt have beaten her severely and shaved her hair off over the relationship with a Serbian Christian Boy.
In the eastern city of Besancon, the Muslim family of Bosnian origin beats their teenage daughter and shaved her head off, only because she was in love with the Christian boy and they wanted to marry each other.
The girl’s family came to Besancon two years ago from Bosnia-Herzegovina. She had a relationship with the 20-year-old Serbian boy who used to live in the same building.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin was deeply shocked by this incident and called it a barbaric act. He said the girl was beaten and shaved just because she was in love with a Christian boy is barbaric. ‘This barbarity calls for the most severe punishment.’
French police detained her parents along with her uncle and aunt, but they were released under judicial control. The girl is under protection, and no one is aware of her whereabouts, her family is not allowed to make any contact with her.
Deputy prosecutor Margaret Parietti said that they will try for ‘violence against minors.’ She further stated, both families knew each other, but the problem occurred when they start talking about getting married. The girl’s family was against this decision, saying they are Muslims, and she cannot marry a Christian.
Upon hearing their daughter’s view, they took her phone and stopped her from contacting him.
The pair fled somehow, and on the fourth day, they came back with the boy’s family to a girl’s home so that both families can sit and talk.
The prosecutor said that mom struck the first blow, and things accelerated from there. Uncle and aunt dragged the girl away and closed her in a room where they hit her and shaved her head. Boy’s parents were unable to do anything, but the boy got away and reported to the police about the incident.
Police went to the location, discovered the girl, and rushed her to the nearby hospital. According to the reports, she was suffering from multiple broken ribs and had bruises on her entire body, especially near the ear.
