An 8-Year-Old Girl Shot Dead In Front Of Her Sister While Trick-or-Treating


An 8-year-old shot in the leg while trick-or-treating in Harlem.

The victim was walking at West 117 street and West 118 street on Lenox Avenue with her sister on Saturday evening. Out of nowhere, people start scattering as if something has happened. The father pulled one of the daughter’s hands while the other was left behind in the chaos. The girl fell on the ground as people started scattering.

The father of the victim said he would like to keep his identity secret. He said, “My two young daughters and I were on our way to CVS to see my wife when I witnessed a guy pulling out his gun.”

The father pulled one of the daughters from the arm while he heard a gunshot. The young girl screamed that her leg was aching.

The incident took place at 7 pm in front of the Fine Fare Supermarket. The gunman shot several times. Other than the girl, two others became the victim and were struck on the arm. One of the victims is the girl’s father; the other one, according to the reporters, is a woman and is in stable condition.

The father said his daughters, who were 8 and 6, were wearing astronaut and Elsa’s costume from a Disney movie, Frozen.

 The 8-year-old got struck in the leg and was crumbling in pain. She is admitted to the hospital and is struggling with a severe fracture of the leg. The younger daughter didn’t get hurt but was in trauma after witnessing the violence.

“As soon as I heard her yelling, “My leg!” I grabbed both of them and ran to catch a taxi. I knew the wound was severe, and we needed to see a doctor. I didn’t realize I was hurt too until I felt pain and itching in my arm while sitting in the cab”, said the father.

Police believe that all the three victims, the girl, the father, and another woman, were shot from the same gun. The shooter was wearing a mask and was covered in black cloth. The investigation for the case is under process.
