David Beckham had an awkward exchange with Prince Harry over an alleged dispute between Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham, a source has claimed.
Meghan and Victoria were reportedly argued last year after the Duchess of Sussex, accused Beckham’s wife of leaking stories about her because the private details about their friendship were surfacing in the news.
Prince Harry is believed to take matters into his own hands and was said to have approached David about the rumors, leaving the Beckhams mortified.
“Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified,” a source told The Sun. “Inexplicably, Meghan feared Victoria was behind it, I mean, the idea that Victoria Beckham would be personally ringing journalists to give them a scoop is ridiculous and spoke to Harry about it.”
“Harry is very protective of Meghan, and decided to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David,” the source said. “He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on, but it certainly made things awkward for a while.”
The source has claimed that it took a few months for the men’s friendship to get back on track.
The alleged dispute apparently happened when it was announced that Harry and Meghan were stepping down as senior royals.
The Beckhams are long-time friends of Prince Harry and even attended his wedding to Meghan in 2018.
David supported Harry in his decision to leave the Royal Family at the time saying: “We love him. But I’m proud to see him growing up as an individual and being that person that every father wants to be.”
“Every father wants to be loving to their children and that’s what I see with him,” David said.
