A fundraising campaign that was set up to assist the royals during their tough financial times has reportedly been shut down.
The campaign aimed to raise a staggering 11 million pounds for mortgages regarding their residence in California. However, it has recently been closed down, after raising just 78.64 pounds.
According to media reports, the page was originally set up by 56-year-old Anastasia Hanson who comes from California. This was just two days after the couple dropped a major bombshell interview with Oprah that came with the title ‘Harry and Meghan $5 donation to purchase a home.’
Moreover, the account’s organizer mentioned on that page how the jobless Duke and Duchess of Sussex were experiencing some very tough times. And hence, ever since the royal family cut off their security and lifestyle funding, things were at an absolute dire extreme.
The page has been reportedly called off as a joke initially. Now, after raising just 78.64 pounds for the cause, it has been removed. However, the page’s organizer mentioned that it was far from a joke and revealed the drastic times experienced by the royals.
Both Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were ‘cut off financially’ after stepping down from their royal titles. Therefore, they abandoned their luxe lifestyle and that means a staggering 8.4 million pounds of funding as well as services too.
Till last year, the couple received financial help in the form of a combined pot so that they could fulfill all of their roles, right before they activated their ‘Megxit last year.’
This included an estimated 1 million pounds for protection detail as well as funding from Prince Charles as well as the Queen.
The couple went on to purchase a mega 9 bedroom and 16 bathroom house that is located in the swanky California neighborhood of Montecito in California. Now, their home has reportedly tripled up in value, worth a staggering amount of 30 million pounds.
