Heartbreaking 911 Call Of Husband Begging His Wife To Live After Being Shot In The Head By Armed Man Was Released


Police released the heart-shattering 911 call from a husband trying to save his dying wife after she was shot in a road rage attack.

On March 25, Ryan and Julie Eberly were driving along Interstate 95 in North Carolina to start a beach vacation. However, Ryan failed to see a car while merging lanes and accidentally cut off the other driver.

Dejywan Floyd, 29, allegedly answered back by firing multiple shots into the couple’s car, hitting Julie in the head.

Floyd was arrested later on arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of Julie Eberly.

The Robeson County Sheriff Office released the heartbreaking audio recording of the call made by Ryan to a 911 handler after the shooting incident.

In the audio, it can be heard that Ryan keeps telling dying his wife to ‘breathe’ and ‘stay with me’ as she slowly dies.

“Some guy just shot into my car in my wife’s head!” Ryan can be heard crying in the audio. “My wife is shot, she’s bleeding badly, I need help now!”

The handler can be heard telling Ryan to lay his wife down flat and listen to her breathing, which the described as ‘slow and labored’.

The husband then said how he saw one man in a white or silver sedan firing at their car.

“Keep breathing, dear,” Ryan said, “I am right here. We’re getting help.”

The police took around ten minutes to arrive on the scene. They immediately took Julie to UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton but died later on.  

According to the authorities, the couple’s GMC Yukon cut off Floyd’s Chevrolet Malibu while merging into another lane.

Floyd violently retaliated by firing multiple shots into the passenger side of Ryan’s car.   

Ryan clarified that there was no confrontation and Floyd was not provoked in any manner.

“I didn’t give him the finger or beep my horn at him or anything to heighten the situation at all,” Ryan told Lancaster online

Ryan explained that he switched into the right lane to get around a slower driver when he became aware of Floyd’s Malibu driving on the shoulder. He says the Floyd then rolled down his window to which he responded with an apologetic gesture and returned to the left lane.

Ryan added that shortly after he noticed the Malibu car tailing him before pulling up to the side, Floyd rolled down the window once again and started firing into his car.

“I looked over, the passenger window of my car was shattered,” Ryan recalled. “My wife called my name.”

According to the police, Floyd sped away and took Exit 22 before crossing the bridge into Lumberton after the fatal shooting.

“This was an innocent family from Pennsylvania headed to the beach for a vacation,” Sheriff Wilkins said. “Thankfully they had left their six children at home with grandparents but now these kids have to live with the thought of their mother being murdered in such a cowardly and senseless way.”

Julie’s mother-in-law set up a GoFundMe to help start a memorial foundation in her name, as of this writing it has raised over $65,000.

“We want to raise funds to honor Julie and her life,” the description reads. “Julie was a beautiful, loving, generous, and giving person.”

“We will be using the funds to help others and to give to the organizations that were close to her heart.”
