Houston Tumlin, ‘Talladega Nights’ Child Actor Was Found Dead At Home With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound


Houston Tumlin, the “Talladega Nights” child actor who played the role of Will Ferrell’s foul-mouthed son, was found dead in his home in Pelham, Alabama on Tuesday.

The actor, who was 13 years old during his appearance in the 2006 comedy film, reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at around 4:30 pm.

His girlfriend, Charity Robertson, was reportedly inside the home at the time of his suicide, and a suicide note has not yet been found.

“I’ll miss your big heart, caring spirit, infectious laughter, and oh man could the list go on,” she wrote on a Facebook post.

“I love you so much Houston Lee and thank you for loving me so passionately and unapologetically for the time we had each other.”

Tumlin’s sister, Hayden, also took to social media to pay tribute to her brother.

“I lost my brother yesterday. This doesn’t feel real or right to be without him. He was so special to us. I will love you forever, bubba,” she wrote.

As of this writing, Will Ferrell has not yet made a comment about the death of his former co-star.

After his only role as an actor, Tumlin served in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell after graduating from high school in 2011.

Several of his former mates in the Army took to Twitter to express their disbelief.

“Sgt. Houston Tumlin came to me as Pvt. Tumlin. He showed a lot of spirit, promise, positive energy and was (hands down) one of the best Soldiers in my company. Came ready to work,” Geoff Carmichael, a former colleague wrote.

“He recently passed, and words can’t describe how hard this is. RIP buddy,” wrote another.
