In Massachusetts, a man came home from work to find his house had been broken into, but instead of being ransacked, it was sparkling clean!

In a Facebook post, Nate Roman, 44, shared photos of the bizarre incident.

Roman said it didn’t seem like anything was stolen and the mystery intruder even left origami roses made from toilet tissue on top of the toilet paper rolls in the bathroom.

In a social media post, Roman described what had happened.

“Today, while I was at work, a stranger entered my house,” Roman wrote. “It’s possible that I forgot to lock the back door, they didn’t break anything while entering.”

“I usually forget to arm my alarm during the day, but unfortunately that also happened, so I don’t have any video, despite having cameras,” he continued. “Not only did they not take anything (that I can find), but the purpose of the visit was to clean my bathrooms and bedrooms.”

“They made the beds, vacuumed the rugs, scrubbed the toilets, and left tp roses,” Roman wrote. “The pic of my son’s room is the ‘after,’ it was a mess when I left that morning.”

Roman added that he is still clueless on why an intruder would do such a thing and that the person left behind ‘no notes, no creepy arrangements or anything.’

“My best theory at this point is that a housekeeping service accidentally went to the wrong address,” Romain said. “It’s still weird and creepy AF. No idea what to think about this.”

However, Roman said that he’s been living in his home for quite some time now, so it’s highly unlikely that a housekeeping service will make such a mistake in his case.

“I’ve been here for a year and a half, changed my locks on day one,” he said. “I’m usually pretty careful about this stuff.”

According to Boston Globe, Marlborough Police Sergeant Daniel Campbell said that as far as he’s aware, Roman’s case is an isolated incident.

“We have not received any reports similar to this in other locations, and we have no suspects at this time,” Campbell said.

The only living creature who knows the truth, unfortunately, can’t say what actually happened.

“There was one witness,” Roman said, referring to his pet lizard. “He’s not saying anything though.”
