Life of Pi Actor Irrfan Khan Dies At 53

Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, known for his roles in “Life of Pi”, “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Jurassic World” dies at 53.

A statement released by Khan’s PR agency, Hardly Anonymous Communications, said, “It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away. Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him”

India’s multi-awarded and beloved actor was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine tumor, in which he revealed back in March 2018.

According to his PR agency, Khan was admitted to the ICU in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital earlier this week.

The day before his death, Khan’s spokesperson said, ”Yes, it is true that Irrfan Khan is admitted to ICU at Kokilaben in Mumbai because of a colon infection.point 368 |

Last year, Khan posted a video about his battle with the disease, wherein he said, “One doesn’t have any other choice but to remain positive. Whether you are able to make lemonade in such situations is entirely up to you.”

He gained international fame when he starred in “Slumdog Millionaire” as the police inspector – the movie which won eight Academy Awards and seven BAFTA Awards.

In a 2015 interview he said, “I never knew it was going to be popular worldwide in such a big way, with the Oscars and all that.”

He also starred as the older Pi Patel in “Life of Pi”, which won multiple Academy and Golden Globe Awards, then took on supporting roles in major US films such as “Jurassic World”, “Inferno” and “The Amazing Spider-Man”
