Italy Coronavirus Deaths Rise By 475 In A Day – The Highest One-day Death Toll Of Any Country


Italy is going through the greatest political turmoil since the Second World War.

Even though China has already taken control over the coronavirus outbreak, Italy is entering into 4th week of its national crisis with still no ray of hope. And yet, the current death toll in a day is the highest of any country making it a blow to the hopes of citizens.

Italy has already locked down the entire country but on 18th March, Italy reports 475 deaths from coronavirus in just 24 hours. Civil Protection Agency stated that the number of total infected patients ramp up by more than 4,000 a day.

According to the Agency, 4,207 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded today bringing the total numbers of infections from 31,506 to 35,713 within the country.

Last Sunday, Italy recorded 368 deaths in a day that was the highest death toll so far but today’s toll has raised concerns among the citizens and everyone has started to panic.

Italian National Institute of Health chief Silvio Brusaferro said, “It will take a few days before we see the benefits. We must maintain these measures to see their effect, and above all to protect the most vulnerable.”

On the other hand, the coronavirus outbreaks in Italy have decreased enormously after the nation adopted aggressive quarantine steps to avoid the virus spreading.

Despite the tough times, Italians haven’t lost hope and in order to raise morals of the people, some people have been seen singing from their homes and chanting slogans while saying “Don’t Give Up”.
