She received a standing ovation from the audience who were shocked to see her radical brand new look and left her signature blond style.

Her colorist, Jack Martin, shared on twitter how they spent 7 hours to work on her hair, and how this look is meant to be a surprise for everyone.

Jane also decided to recycle the gown she wore six years ago at Cannes to make a statement about carbon footprints and ecological responsibility.

She paired her gown with her famous red climate change coat – the last piece of clothing she bought, as she swore last November that she will make an effort to stop buying new clothes for the environment.

To top it off, she wore a Pomellato jewelry that not only complements her look perfectly, she chose the said jeweler because they “use responsible, ethically harvested gold and sustainable diamonds.”

She perfectly used the stage to bring her climate action campaign, as she started her speech with the words, “Nothing is more important than raising awareness, right?”

While she referred to the film’s ability to bring change to an individual or to the society, she also hinted on her own activism by simply choosing look she graced us that night.

The Hollywood actress presented the Best Picture Award that night to South Korean black comedy thriller Parasite, which made history as the first foreign language film to win the prestigious award.

This win is indeed another example of an epitome of a film making an impact on a societal level, highlighting the disparity of wealth and family dynamics.
