Jason Davis Who Voiced Gentle Giant Michael ‘Mickey’ Blumberg On Recess Died At the Age Of 35


Troubled oil heir Jason Davis, voicing Michael ‘ Mikey ‘ Blumberg’s father on the Disney animated series Recess, died in Los Angeles Sunday at the age of 35.

The actual cause of his death is still not known.

The news was broke by his mother Nancy in a statement to Hollywood reporter ” I am so heartbroken to share the saddest news of my life that my son Jason Davis passed away in Los Angeles this morning. Jason had a true heart of gold with such zest for life”.

She praising her deceased son said, “He was such a caring soul to everybody who ever knew him. He loved his friends and his family above all else. We ask for privacy as we take time to grieve this most devastating loss.”

His fans knew him by the nickname Gummi Bear and, was the grandson of Marvin Davis, the late industrialist and studio leader, and the philanthropist Barbara Davis.

Marvin Davis, who made his fortune as chairman of Davis Petroleum, purchased 20th Century Fox in 1981 and sold it to Rupert Murdoch four years later for a profit estimated to surpass $300 million.

At the same time, the billionaire owned the Beverly Hills Hotel and world-famous Pebble Beach Golf Links in Monterrey, California.

Jason is Brandon Davis’ brother who reportedly seen with Paris Hilton and also made a disparaging remark about Lindsay Lohan as she left the Hyde Nightclub on Sunset Boulevard back in 2006.

Since his series premiere in August 1997 until its end in November 2001, he played the character of ‘ gentle giant ‘ Mikey in Recess, as well as in Disney-based films.

Jason was Nancy’s , and Nebil Zarif’s son who was a wine grower by profession. He had recently been devoted to the charity he co-founded Cure Addiction Now.

Jason appeared on the fourth season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2010 to deal with an addiction to heroin, OxyContin and Xanax.

During the reunion show he said that his condition deteriorated because of drugs, but is far better now.Nevertheless, in January 2011, he was arrested for drug possession in Newport Beach, California, and was later charged with possession of narcotics and being under the effect of drugs.

His acting roles include Roseanne and 7th Heaven as well as Rush Hour and Beverly Hills Ninja movies.

Jason was appearing on a TV show titled The Two Jasons at the time of his death.
