Singer Jessie J Hospitalised After Waking Up With Hear Loss And Inability To Walk


Jessica Ellen Cornish or most commonly known as Jessie J was recently hospitalized in Los Angeles after she woke up unable to hear or walk straight.

The 32-year old singer spent Christmas Eve in hospital and was later diagnosed with Ménière’s, a disease that affects the inner ear and can cause vertigo. If the condition goes untreated, it may lead to permanent hearing loss.

“It could be way worse, it is what it is. I’m super grateful for my health. It just threw me off,” she added.

As reported by The Sun, Jessie took herself to a hospital on Christmas Eve to seek treatment. Fortunately, doctors worked out what was wrong with her ‘real quick’ and were able to give her the help she needed.

According to the NHS, there’s no cure for Ménière’s disease, but certain medications can be prescribed to help with nausea and dizziness.

In another Instagram post, while explaining about her Ménière’s syndrome, the singer said how much she was missing her family.

Jessie is currently in Los Angeles, the British-born singer was unable to return to the UK for the holiday season due to the ongoing pandemic.

She wrote on December 24, that she ‘had a big cry’ because she was ‘missing [her] friends and family in GB’ and adding that it’s ‘important to let it out and let yourself feel, it just won’t sit in it. Can’t change it so don’t let it ruin your Christmas’.
