Johnny Depp sued The Sun newspaper for calling him a wife beater in an article in 2018. The high court judge said the newspaper was not wrong in saying so as several shreds of evidence support the statement.

The 51-year-old actor, famous for his performance in The Pirates of the Caribbean, is accused of beating his ex-wife multiple times. Mr. Justice Nicol said that Depp was violent towards his wife and had hit her 12 times.
