Katy Perry revealed that she and Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child together, as seen in her latest music video on Thursday.
In her video for “Never Worn White”, Perry shows her baby bump while wearing a white dress.
The 35-year-old Grammy nominated pop star then posted on Twitter, “Omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore,” and continued with, “Or carries around a big purse lol.”
In a subsequent Instagram Live chat, Perry shared her excitement and said, “We’re excited and happy and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep.”
She added, “And I like to tell you guys everything but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s, I guess that’s how I speak to you.”
Perry also announced that the baby is due over summer, around the time she will also be releasing her new album.
In the song “Never Worn White,” Perry sings about her wish to marry Bloom, “Cause I’ve never worn white / But I want to get it right / Yeah, I really want to try with you.”
It will be the second marriages for both Perry and Bloom, who got engaged on Valentine’s Day.
Perry was married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, it is rumored that she wore a gray dress to their wedding.
Bloom was married to Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013, and they share a son, Flynn, who was born on 2011.
They started dating in 2016, split up after 10 months, and then reunited in early 2018.
In an episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in late February, Perry told Jimmy Kimmel that Bloom asked her to marry him while on a helicopter ride over Los Angeles.
She said, “I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner, but we pulled up to a helicopter, but it was really sweet.”
