On Saturday during a peaceful protest at Parliament Square at 7 pm against racial inequality and injustice, a few violent incidents erupted as a couple of angry young men threw flares and hurled bikes on the police horses.
One of the hit horses got dreadful and gobbled at the unexpected act and tried to escape the scene frantically injuring the rider and hitting a demonstrator while making its way out to its stable. Though the protest was quite peaceful before this happened, this aggressive and malign action became a dark stain on the protest.
Several celebrities attended the march as well including Madonna on her crutches. Borish Becker and Anthony Joshua also made it to the march at Watford to speak against the police brutality and racial discrimination prevalent in the US and UK. HE was wearing a black jumper with the slogan Black Lives Matter on it.
Administration and certain authorities took it to Twitter to express their disgust about the incident. Priti Patel, Secretary of the State for the Home Department, called the violence towards police officers as totally unacceptable and gave her full consent to handle such ‘disorderly behavior’.
She further requested the demonstrators to stay peaceful and follow the social decorums. Patel also stated that people should not gather in protests as the threat of COVID-19 is still active.
Sadiq Khan, the London mayor, also wrote on Twitter saying the tiny violent minority of the peaceful protests are damaging the cause they are gathered for. They should keep the sanctity of the cause intact keeping the peace in order.
The Riot police are also guarding PM house on account of intense events following #BlackLivesMatter protests where the demonstrators are taking it to streets in thousands to speak for equality and justice to get their due rights.point 314 |
