Man Who Raped A Woman By Making A Hole In The Condom Is Jailed For Four Years


A man is jailed for four years for raping the woman by puncturing the condom with the pin.

Andrew Lewis (47) had used a pin to pierce the condom before sex. He was caught out after the woman found other pierced condoms in a drawer on March 10, 2018.

Andrew Lewis, who is a train driver, has been jailed for four years after admitting rape at an earlier hearing at Worcester Crown Court on October 2.

Glyn Samuel, the prosecutor, said that the victim found punctured condoms and the pin in the drawer near the bed. She added that after seeing the pierced condoms, the victim then checked the used one in the bin and saw the holes in that too. She described the act as ‘pure evil.’

Prosecutor Samuel said that the culprit told police that he hoped the condom would split to improve the intimacy. He said that there was a degree of planning involved in piercing the condom.

Lynette McClement, the defense lawyer, said that the Lewis, who is from Worcester, wanted to enhance the intimacy he was not planning to get her pregnant.

Defense Attorney McClement said: ‘She had every right to choose her form of contraception. He had hoped it would tear, and as a result, she would change her mind. It is an unusual case.’

Judge Cole, while sentencing Lewis, said that it was quite clear that the victim did not want a baby, and she had given her consent as long as Lewis wore the condom, so it was a devious act.

Judge Cole also said that it was a breach of trust. The offense of rape is serious, so a  custodial sentence is appropriate.
