Melania: “We Are Feeling Good”


First Lady Melania Trump said in a Twitter post that she and President Donald Trump are “feeling good” after the President announced their diagnosis.

She said that they were quarantining at home and had postponed all upcoming engagements.

“Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together,” Melania said on the post.

White House physician Sean Conley described the presidential couple’s condition as “well”.

“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence,” the doctor said.

“The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions,”

“Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments,” he added.

The President announced the positive results hours after Trump’s top aide Hope Hicks tested positive for Covid-19.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany wrote in Twitter that the “strength of the entire country is with the President.”

“America stands united. Our country stands strong. Your President will continue to put the People first!”

The 31-year-old counselor travelled with the President on Air Force One this week, as part of his entourage who travelled to Cleveland, Ohio for Tuesday night’s debate against Joe Biden.

Trump, along with Pence and other senior staff are being tested daily, and everyone who comes into contact with the President also receives a quick-result test.

Trump’s diagnosis raises questions about what would happen if he were to become to ill to perform his duties as the President of the country.

Under the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, the president can declare themselves “unable to discharge the powers of the presidency” and may temporarily hand over power to the Vice President.
