“The White House is going to start acting now” in an effort to address any reparations towards the African American community. Moreover, the news comes as a part of an interview by the senior White House adviser as the Congress debates on forming a new commission for studying how this policy could possibly be implemented in today’s time.

Richmond added how the administration may work at backing the study but they did not intend on waiting upon the Congress. Speaking to the outlet, Richmond boldly declared, “We don’t want to wait on a particular study. We are going to act now.”

In the same way, he spoke about how the US plans on starting off by breaking down any systemic barriers as well as the racism that hold people of color back, with great emphasis upon Black African Americans.

Richmond continued with statements that hinted at how a timeline about the Congress’s commission wasn’t known yet. In the past, great talks about the reparations had been the subject of debate, without actually gaining upon any results.

In addition, former US president Barack Obama also spoke about how reparations are the need of the hour and how he fully backed them up, while appearing on a live podcast with rock legend Bruce Springsteen. The news raised quite a few eyebrows as the president failed to do anything about it during his reign as President of the United States.

But after clinching his Democratic nomination for the presidency last year, Biden fully supported the addition of studying reparations on his platform and now, it appears that the time is right.
