A mum is admitting how she gave her daughter the wrong name and for that reason, she can’t sleep at night.
There’s no denying the fact that baby names are a tricky affair and it’s something that many parents struggle with for a long time. While some may be ahead of the game, other parents don’t have a clue about where to begin. And on some occasions, the guilt is enough to destroy mental peace for days.
In case you beg to disagree, here’s a mum that’s going viral for obvious reasons. Recently, she admitted to feeling a real sense of guilt as well as a terrible sense of regret. Surprisingly, it has to do with naming her daughter, which she did two years ago.
However, that time period wasn’t enough for the guilt to settle in and now she’s going public about her issues.
While the woman prefers to remain anonymous, she explains via a post on a Reddit forum how she went about naming her little one, Jane. And it was after her late grandmother. As far as the reasons for choosing that particular name are concerned, she says that it ticked up all the right boxes.
The unnamed mum’s post read, “I feel like I gave my daughter the wrong name.point 188 | ” And then she went on questioning if anyone else did the same and felt remorse afterward.point 268 |

Still, she lays awake at night, totally regretting her decision. Also, she wishes that she named her another name like Daphine instead. And now the guilt is eating her alive, she claims.
While her daughter is almost two years old, the mum has no intention of changing it. In addition, she feels that maybe there’s truly nothing wrong and she’s just in search of some reassurance. In the end, she questions whether or not this feeling of guilt will actually go away or not.
